GUIDE: Tuesday in Petaluma

Welcome to Tuesday. Start the day off with a hike in Helen Putnam park as the hills, trees, and vistas are beautiful. The park also offers hike options for all levels. There is a fee to use the park, but you can pick up an annual Sonoma county park pass at Copperfield’s books. A park pass is a great way to support our open spaces.

After the hike you will be hungry. So grab a bite to eat and coffee at The Bagel Mill. I am a little obsessed with their salted honey latte , which is served in a cute pink mug. I like the mug and the latte so much that I decided to make it the cover for this guide(I think I am more than a little obsessed with this latte.) Each mug is crafted by a brilliant local ceramic artist who also works at the The Bagel Mill.

Most of the antique stores in town are open Tuesday, which makes it a great day to go antiquing. Many of the other stores and eateries are closed, therefore town tends to be uncrowded and the parking plentiful.

Here is a list of my favorite antique (and thrift) stores downtown:

Chelsea Antiques @ 148 Petaluma Blvd N (Antiques)

Sienna @ 119 Petaluma Blvd N (Antiques)

The Find @ 322 Western st. (Vintage and new items)

Summer Cottage @ 153 Kentucky St (Antiques)

Opera House Collective @ 145 Kentucky St (Vintage clothing)

Alphabet Soap Thrift @ 203 Western Ave

Sacks Hospice Thrift @ 128 Liberty St

Dinner and lunch on Tuesday are offered at Cocina Paradiso, which is right next door to Estuary. The back area is on the river. The streets are cobbled, and little bit of Europe has made its way to Petaluma. It is set away from traffic which makes it very pleasant and the food is very good.

Enjoy!
